Module K Intermodal Art

This module provides a comprehensive insight into the basics elements of Expressive Arts practice with the various arts. There are six areas of focus that are offered as intensive seminars.

Expressive Arts and Individuation

The seminars aim for the development of both the artistic and therapeutic principles. The students are encouraged to follow their own questions and topics in the creative experiences. The experimental work is acting as a catalyst for the unfolding relationship with the arts and the understanding of the creative process. This also leads to an understanding of the applicability in the concrete practice. The theoretical blocks address core issues and core concepts of Expressive Arts. The module examination consists in the presentation of an individual artistic project and practical examples.

This module deals in intensive seminars on the basis of relevant
theories with:

• Development throughout the life-span
• Biography as a Resource
• The therapeutic Relationship
• Understanding Health and Illness
• Psychopathology and Salutogenesis
• Embodiment and Somatics
• Crisis, developmental and Shock Trauma
• Professional Ethics

3rd year Module F Research Colloquium

• Introduction to scientific research with an emphasize on
   phenomenology, arts-based research and qualitative research
• Thesis advisory individual and Group sessions

Module P Field work /Internship
Module P can be studied online

• Documentation
• Project development & Internship
• Advisory Group Supervision
• Diagnostical assessment from a phenomenological point of view
• Intervision

Module P trains the application and practice of Intermodal Expressive Arts in various contexts. This includes the conceptualization and professional communication of the approach as well as documentation and diagnostic. Case studies, individual and group process are discussed and interventions reflected in the group supervisions. The Module is complete when the students have reached the required number of hours in the internship.
